Penn State Law's Programs and Academics

Penn State Law offers a J.D. and, for foreign-trained attorneys, an LL.M. and S.J.D. All Penn State law students may pursue opportunities for interdisciplinary study with other Penn State graduate programs, including the College of Education, Smeal College of Business, College of Engineering, College of Agricultural Sciences, College of the Liberal Arts, and School of International Affairs.

    The J.D. program is a three-year course of study. Students can participate in clinics, externships, extracurricular activities, and study with top-notch faculty.

    The S.J.D. is an advanced course of study for lawyers practicing outside of the U.S. who seek advanced and specialized knowledge in a particular area of law. S.J.D. students pursue supervised study leading to a dissertation.
