Julie Metzger focuses her writing on commercial law and international and comparative banking law. As former senior counsel to City National Bank and CIT Group, Professor Metzger has focused on commercial lending, compliance and auditing, and financial operations. Prior to entering private legal practice she was a staff attorney at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where she planned for bank closings and helped investigate insider wrongdoing.
Professor Metzger has served as a consultant to the USAID program where she worked on a three-person team to draft a bankruptcy law for Ecuador and, from 2002 through 2004, served as a member of the Core Group, which consulted with the World Bank on its development of training materials and principles for implementation by the World Bank.
