Scholarly Journal Participation for Transfer Applicants

Apply Now

Students transferring to Penn State Law are eligible to participate in Penn State Law’s scholarly journals. Penn State Law has three scholarly journals: the Penn State Law Review, the Arbitration Law Review, and the Journal of Law and International Affairs. Membership in a scholarly journal is earned through write-on competitions, in which prospective transfer students may participate.

Prospective transfer students may participate in the Penn State Law Review (PSLR) write on competition even if they have not yet applied or received an admissions decision from Penn State Law. The competition will take place from May 17 to May 27. To participate, contact Anna Fosberg, PSLR Executive Comments Editor, at axf363@psu.edu no later than May 15, 12:00 p.m. EDT. Participants will be notified if they have been selected for membership in PSLR by June 22.

Participants in the PSLR write-on competition who are not selected for membership in PSLR will automatically have their competition entry submitted for consideration by the Journal of Law and International Affairs (JLIA) and the Arbitration Law Review (ALR).

Applicants who are offered transfer admission to Penn State Law and who did not participate in the PSLR write on competition may participate in a write on competition for JLIA and ALR. The JLIA/ALR write on competition will take place from June 12 to June 22. To participate in the JLIA/ALR write-on competition contact Emi Janisch, JLIA Editor in Chief, at exj53@psu.edu, and Jaime Fell, ALR Editor in Chief, at jxf523@psu.edu no later than June 10, 12:00 p.m. EDT. Participants will be notified if they were selected for membership in JLIA or ALR by July 6.
