Dr. W.R. Walter (Bergstresser) Scholarship

Amount: Varies but is renewable for up to three years

Selection Criteria:

The scholarship is intended to assist Harrisburg area students financially in their pursuit of a graduate degree in Dentistry, Medicine, Ministry, Law, or other scientific fields. Recipients will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, financial need and potential to succeed in the student's chosen educational field.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be high school graduates of one of the public high schools located in Dauphin County or Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.
  • Applicants must have obtained a Bachelor's degree and be enrolled or enrolling in graduate school in the fall of the year the award is made.
  • Applicants must plan to obtain a graduate degree in one of the following fields: Dentistry, Medical Field, Ministry, Law, or other scientific fields.
  • Applicants must demonstrate academic ability.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Donald W. Banner Diversity Fellowship

Amount: $5,000

Selection Criteria:

Established to foster the development of intellectual property lawyers from diverse backgrounds

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be enrolled in a JD program at an ABA accredited law school
  • Applicant must exhibit academic merit
  • Applicant must be committed to pursuing a career in Intellectual Property law
  • Applicant must be a member of a historically under-represented group in IP law (including race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and disability)
  • Applicant must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicant must demonstrate leadership qualities and community involvement
  • Applicant must have a scientific or engineering degree and be eligible to take the Patent Bar Exam
