Hudson County Bar Foundation Scholarship Fund

Amount: $2,000 typically

Selection Criteria:

Established to assist Hudson County, NJ residents who attend law school or have been accepted to law school.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must provide proof of Hudson County, NJ residency.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants must account for appropriate academic standards.
  • Applicants must provide two Letters of Recommendation.

Lawrence M. Klemow, Esq. Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Varies

Selection Criteria:

Established to provide scholarship assistance to individuals who reside in the Greater Hazelton area pursuing a law degree.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a law degree program.
  • Applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Applicant must have a demonstrated financial need.
  • Applicant must have proven community service work and/or work experience
  • Applicant must have demonstrated strength of character

For students starting law school in the fall of 2024:

LMJ Scholarship

Amount: Up to six awards of $10,000 each

Selection Criteria:

Established by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association as a diversity pipeline program that seeks to nurture the academic and professional careers of outstanding law students.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be admitted to an ABA accredited law school for a full-time Juris Doctor program for the fall of 2024
  • Applicants must have an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Applicants must have filed the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), with special allowance for DACA students
  • Applicants must have an interest in corporate law, including an interest in working in a corporate law department and/or law firm
  • Applicants must have an interest in diversity and inclusion.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated community service and leadership qualities
