Brown, PC National Business Law Scholarship

Amount: $500

Selection Criteria:

Established to provide financial assistance to law students demonstrating an interest in business law.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be enrolled in the second or third year of law school.
  • Applicant must be enrolled at a law school in the USA.
  • Applicant must be able to demonstrate an interest in business law.
  • Applicant must have a GPA of at least 3.0.

Brown, PC National Tax Law Scholarship

Amount: $500

Selection Criteria:

Established to provide financial assistance to law students demonstrating an interest in tax law.

The Dominguez Firm Legal Scholarship Award

Amount: $2,500

Selection Criteria:

Established to provide financial assistance to a worthy law student, recognizing that individual's academic achievements and unique goals despite their struggles or challenges.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicant must be either accepted into or currently enrolled in law school.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Applicant must demonstrate involvement in community activities.

Essex County Bar Association Biunno Scholarship for Law Students with Disabilities

Amount: Varies

Selection Criteria:

Established  by the Essex County Bar Association and its Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in conjunction with the Hon. Vincent J. Biunno memorial Fund.  Designed to offer financial assistance to persons with disabilities who are currently attending law school.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must demonstrate a present and permanent physical or mental disability that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual.  Medical documentation establishing the nature and extent of the disability will be required.
  • Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey.  There will be a preference given to Essex County residents.
  • Applicant must be attending law school or be accepted to and commencing studies in law school.
  • Applicant must have attained a 3.0 or equivalent GPA in law school, or if they are an incoming student, a 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
  • Preference given to a person seeking to pursue a career in the field of advocacy for persons with disabilities.  Intent may be domonstrated by completing a course in disability law, work in a disability or disability-related clinic or prior job experience
  • Preference given to students who can demonstrate financial need.

Nursing Home Law Center Annual Senior Impact Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

Selection Criteria:

Established to provide financial assistance to one undergraduate student and one law student per year.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be US citizen
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a law school in the US.
  • Award must be used for tuition.

Pennsylvania Bar Foundation Patti Rose Scheimer Bednarik Memorial Scholarship Fund​

Amount: Up to $5,400

Selection Criteria:

Established by Joseph T. Bednarik in memory of his late wife, the founder and first chair of PBA Animal Law Committee.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicant must be a PA resident.
  • Applicant must be either enrolled in an accredited law school in the US, or a licensed Pennsylvania lawyer admitted to practice less than three years.
  • Applicant must perform volunteer service to an animal welfare organization before, during and/or after law school; or engage in scholarship in the field of animal law and animal welfare, including reading, writing, and clinical work; or perform pro bono legal work in the field of animal welfare.
