Students enrolled at other law schools who are interested in spending a semester or more at Penn State Law while earning their law degrees from their home institutions may apply to enroll as visiting students. The applicant must be in good academic standing at an ABA-approved law school and complete our online application. The application for visiting students is available beginning April 1, 2017, with the end transmission date of July 15. 2017.
How to Apply
The applicant must submit, by July 15, 2017,
- a law school transcript showing all of the applicant's academic work
- a letter of good standing from an academic dean at the home law school that also indicates class rank, identifies any disciplinary charges that have been brought or are pending against the applicant, grants permission for the student to visit away, and states that the home law school will accept the transfer of Penn State Law credits
- a copy of the banner page of the applicant's LSDAS report (This report should be on file at the applicant's home school.)
- a copy of the applicant's official final transcript from his or her undergraduate degree granting school
Decisions regarding visiting status are usually made in mid- to late-July.
Upon completing enrollment with Penn State Law, the visiting student's home institution will require an official transcript. It is the visiting student's responsibility to request a Penn State transcript and to be sure that the home school receives it. Transcripts are sent after final grading is completed each semester.
Applicants interested in visiting at Penn State Law should apply via our Transfer Application, which will be open in spring 2017.
