Master of Legal Studies Financial Aid

Graduate students in the Master of Legal Studies degree program may be eligible for federal student loans to help with the cost of their education. Students may borrow up to $20,500 per year from the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan. If additional funds are necessary, students may be eligible to also borrow funds from the Federal Direct PLUS Loan for Graduate Students. To be considered for federal loans, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA form can be completed online after October 1. Regardless of personal family income or year in school, students are welcome to apply for financial assistance at any point during their education at Penn State. Note: The federal school code for all Penn State locations is 003329.

Please note that international students and students enrolled in the Legal Studies Certificate program are not eligible for federal student aid. These students may need to consider private alternative student loans.

The Financial Aid Office is happy to work with admitted and enrolled students to identify resources and obtain the necessary funds to finance their legal studies education.

For questions, please contact Susan Bogart, Penn State Law Director of Financial Aid.
