Advanced Topics in Global Patent Prosecution

This course is an advanced examination of the legal requirements for obtaining patent protection for an invention, both domestically and globally. Students will engage with US Patent Statutes, US Code of Federal Regulations, the Manual of Patent Examining Procedure and US Patent and Trademark Office issued guidelines to develop client patent strategies, domestically.  The course also takes a comparative approach to teach strategies related to worldwide prosecution of patent dockets.
