Blind Lines of Justice

Blind Lines of Justice is a discussion intended to examine and explore restorative justice, social justice, and building trust in the legal system amongst marginalized communities. The panel discussion will consist of knowledgeable, experienced prosecutors and defense attorneys in different areas of criminal law. This panel aims to showcase differences in decision-making, obstacles in case proceedings, issues of cross-collaboration that impact social justice, and overall building greater awareness around criminal justice proceedings.  Penn State Law in University Park Professor and CLS Faculty Adviser Jacob Schuman will moderate.

Speakers:

  • Thomas Gaeta - Assistant District Attorney in the Conviction Integrity Unit at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office 
  • Sherrell Dandy – Assistant Supervisor of the Homicide and Non-Fatal Shooting Unit at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office 
  • Lori Ulrich – Trial Unit Chief, Assistant Federal Defender at Middle District of Pennsylvania 
  • Jon Cioschi – Associate Attorney, Wiseman and Schwartz, P.C, and former Philadelphia Assistant Public Defender
