Atiba Ellis, professor of law at Marquette University, will be the special guest speaker for Penn State Law's Consitution Day Lecture on Tuesday, September 18, from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. in 114 Katz Building. Professor Ellis will present on "Integrity, Equality, and the Fragility of the Right to Vote."

At the heart of battles over American democracy is a tension between state autonomy and demands for equality. This talk will offer perspectives on how this particular clash of constitutional and democratic values has come to be and will describe how modern-day voter suppression debates are the latest iteration of a battle over American identity.
