Parallels of Injustice: An Intersection Between Black Lives Matter and the Immigrants' Rights Movement

The Penn State Law Center for Immigrants' Rights Clinic and the Black Law Students Association proudly presents, "Parallels of Injustice: An intersection between Black Lives Matter and the Immigrants' Rights Movement." This will be a conversation about the similarities and differences between calls to "Abolish ICE" and "Defund the Police" and the implications to Black and Brown communities. Join us to discuss these important topics on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:00 p.m. EST via Zoom.

Speakers will include:

  • Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia, Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Director and Founder of the Center for Immigrants' Rights Clinic at Penn State Law in University Park
  • Karla M. McKanders, Clinical Professor of Law and Associate Director of Legal Clinic at Vanderbilt University Law School
