Travel and Hotel Information

Please reserve your hotel early! The workshop weekend is busy in Davis, and we anticipate that hotels will sell out quickly. Hotels in Davis are particularly pricey during the workshop weekend due to other campus events. We have booked a group rate at the following hotel in nearby Woodland. We will provide shuttle service from the hotel in Woodland to King Hall. The shuttle schedule will be posted to the website one week before the conference.

Comfort Suite Woodland
2080 Freeway Drive, Woodland, CA 95618
530-723-5902

The group rate is: $120/night +tax.

To book a room at the Comfort Suite Woodland, please contact Tessa Bryce at tcbryce@ucdavis.edu or call the hotel at the number listed above and let them know they are with the UC Davis group.

More information on traveling to King Hall can be found here: https://law.ucdavis.edu/about/visiting-davis

Travel Stipends: The Workshop has a limited amount of funds to provide a modest assistance to those who do not have other means to travel to join the Workshop. Priority will be given to those who do not have access to a travel budget for academic conferences at their home institution or organization. If you would like to be considered for a stipend, please write to AAPIMENAWorkshop@gmail.com by August 20. Please state your position, your institution or organization, and your reason for requesting travel assistance.  You will be notified by August 27 if you will receive a travel stipend.

Works in Progress & Incubators

To be considered to present an incubator or work in progress, please submit a 200-word abstract via email with the subject line "Incubator Abstract" or "WIP Abstract" to AAPIMENAWorkshop@gmail.com by August 15. Full WIP Drafts or Full Incubators (of 2-3 pages) will be due September 2.

A "Work in Progress" is a draft article that others can comment on which the author intends to publish in a law journal.

An "Incubator" is a 2-3 page summary of an idea or argument that also describes the subject matter of a future article, where others can provide feedback.
