Joseph’s lifelong interest in agriculture originates from his childhood growing up and working on a cattle ranch in Central Montana, where he helped his parents run a cow calf beef operation and a small local grocery store. Additionally, he has legal experience practicing corporate, shale, and energy law in Pennsylvania and, prior to working at the center, was in-house counsel for four years at Rex Energy Corporation, a publicly traded oil and gas company operating in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana.
He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Montana State University and his law degree from Penn State Law. He is also a commissioned intelligence officer in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
