Maria Witmer, Research Assistant

Maria is from Sunbury, Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience in farm business management and the Pennsylvania dairy industry. Prior to her attending Penn State Law, Ms. Witmer was an owner-operator of a central Pennsylvania dairy farm. Her years of experience, as both a dairy and a poultry farmer, provide her with a real-world understanding of the agricultural industry including the various legal issues that Pennsylvania farmers may encounter. As a rural commonwealth resident for over thirty years, Maria is both honored and proud to give back to those in the agricultural community. In 2014, Maria graduated magna cum laude and received her B.S. in educational policy from Susquehanna University. Maria is not only a third-year law student here at Penn State, she is the mother of two adult sons, and she enjoys encouraging and guiding them as they pursue careers in the Pennsylvania agricultural community. |
