One of the Penn State Law in University Park mock trial teams was a winner of the Midwest Region of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) Student Trial Advocacy Competition this past weekend and became one of just 20 teams nationwide to advance to the national finals later this spring.
The Penn State Law in University Park Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team took first in the 2022 Mid-Atlantic Region Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition and will advance to the national competition.
Penn State Law in University Park students work alongside faculty in a hands-on atmosphere that takes them beyond the books through experiential learning.
"The quality of the advocacy in the trial was the best I have seen in a 1L competition,” said Professor of Practice Chris French. “I was really impressed.”
On the second Monday of every month, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the Veterans Clinic will offer free legal consultations to veterans and servicemembers at the Starbucks store located at 232 West College Avenue in State College, part of Starbucks' national Military Mondays Program.
