Deokhee Ryu grew up in Gwangju, South Korea, where she became aware of civil rights injustices. This summer, she continued working towards her goal of becoming a human rights lawyer as she interned with Philadelphia Legal Assistance.
Carlos Camandang, a rising 3L, and Umme Kulsoom Arif, a rising 2L, will join nine other students from law schools across the country as members of the SALT Student Advisory Council.
The Supreme Court held that federal employees have a right to de novo review regardless of whether the MPSB dismisses a case on procedural or jurisdictional grounds—which is the argument that was put forth by Penn State Law students in their amicus brief filed on the plaintiff’s behalf.

Students Gerard Gaughan and Benjamin Novak recently represented Penn State Law as they competed in the Federal Bar Association’s Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition, held March 16-17, in Washington, D.C.
