Penn State Law grads get good news from PA Bar

The Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners reported that Penn State Law graduates had a 95.83% pass rate for first-time test takers of the July 2012 Pennsylvania Bar Exam. The overall pass rate for first-time test takers in Pennsylvania was reported at 83.01%. Keith Elkin, assistant dean for students, said that other jurisdictions which already have released summer bar exam results—Delaware, Indiana, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Connecticut—have reported 19 of 21 students having passed. In New York, 23 out of the 26 Penn State Law students taking the Bar there for the first time, passed. That's 88.46%, which is higher than the pass rate for all first time takers in NY (83%) and higher than first time takers from NY law schools (85%).

According to Dean Elkin, “The results so far demonstrate just how hard these students have worked to prepare. I think I speak for all of the faculty when I say, we couldn’t be prouder.”
