Lewis Katz Building wins 'Project of the Year' award

After reviewing a record number of entries, Mid-Atlantic Construction magazine named the Law School's new University Park Lewis Katz Building "Project of the Year" in the higher education/research facility category. The jury of architects, engineers, and general contractors focused on those projects that best achieved the goals of the project team; adopted innovative approaches; executed exceptional design and craftsmanship; maintained safe sites; and displayed strong teamwork.

"We've been operating in the building for almost a year now and it truly is an exceptional facility," said Law School Dean Philip McConnaughay. "The award is deserved because the building has exceeded our goals reflecting the progressive educational program of our school of law. It offers the perfect setting for our faculty and student scholars to engage in the serious study of the law," McConnaughay said.

All winners will be featured in the Winter edition of Mid-Atlantic Construction magazine. The  Lewis Katz Building also was named a finalist in the 2009 Building Magazine's Project Innovations Awards.
