European accounting agency appoints Professor Ventoruzzo to corporate law working group

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Law professor Marco Ventoruzzo has been appointed to the Corporate Governance & Company Law Working Party of the Federation of European Accountants (FEE), a Brussels-based global nonprofit agency that represents institutes of professional accountants and auditors from 37 European countries.

The working group will follow developments at the European Union level and at the EU Member States level concerning corporate governance, participate in public consultations, and more generally interact with European institutions on proposals and other documents. The group proactively identifies potential issues, proposes solutions, and engages with relevant stakeholders to move the debate forward and promote the involvement of practitioners in corporate governance and company law.

FEE has a combined membership of more than 875,000 professional accountants working in different capacities in public practice, small and large accountancy firms, businesses of all sizes, government, and education.

Ventoruzzo, the Arthur L. and Sandra S. Piccone Faculty Scholar at Penn State Law, is a comparative business law scholar who has published extensively in the U.S. and Europe in English and Italian. He holds a joint appointment with Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, where he has been director of the Ph.D. program in Corporate and Business Law and vice-director of the Paolo Baffi Research Center on Central Banking and Financial Regulation.
