Professor French General Editor on new LexisNexis Treatise

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Christopher C. French, Professor of Practice at Penn State Law in University Park, is the General Editor of a new 772-page treatise entitled New Appleman Pennsylvania Insurance Law, published by LexisNexis, a worldwide leader in primary and secondary legal publications.

The treatise, designed specifically for Pennsylvania attorneys and professionals in the insurance field, is an expansive practice guide that encompasses most aspects of insurance coverage practice and litigation across all major lines of personal, professional and commercial insurance. It includes checklists, practice tips, and references to relevant caselaw, statutes, and regulations on a broad range of insurance topics, including:

• How and where insurance is regulated;
• types of insurance policies and coverages;
• policy formation and sale;
• extra-contractual liability;
• exclusions and policy conditions; and
• litigating insurance matters.

French teaches Contracts, Evidence, Insurance Law, Remedies, Torts, and Trial Advocacy at Penn State Law. He has written and published extensively in the area where insurance law intersects with contract and tort law, and is a co-author of an insurance law casebook, Insurance Law and Practice: Cases, Materials, and Exercises, as well as an insurance law reference book, Insurance Law in a Nutshell. Prior to joining academia, French was a former partner at K&L Gates LLP, where he worked as a commercial litigator specializing in insurance coverage disputes.
