Join the American Constitution Society this Friday, April 7 at 6:00 p.m. in the Katz Auditorium for an 'Independent State Legislature Theory Panel.' This panel of experts in Election Law from around the country will look into what the future of democracy in America looks and will discuss the history and implications of the novel Independent State Legislature (“ISL”) Theory. The ISL theory is a line of legal reasoning grounded in the Elections and Electors clauses of the Constitution. This theory could yield control of federal elections to state legislatures despite the custom of the federal government handling election regulation for the entirety of United States history.
In-person attendance is encouraged. Refreshments and Jersey Mike's will follow the event.
