For students entering Penn State Law (University Park) in and after Fall 2015
Under the guidance of an experienced supervisor, second- and third-year students can step out of the classroom and gain practical experience working in a legal office in one of Penn State Law's externship programs. General externships allow students to continue taking courses while working with federal judges, state or federal government agencies, and public interest or nonprofit organizations.

General Externship Program
To apply for the General Externship Program, students need to log on to the Career Portal (please select the correct one below), click on the OCI tab, and select “Spring Semester 2017 Externship Recruitment” from the drop down menu. Students can then select individual employers and submit the required materials. Check back regularly as externships are still being added. The deadline to apply for Spring 2017 is Thursday, September 29, 2016.
