Centre County Court of Common Pleas begins temporary operations in Lewis Katz Building

The Centre County Court of Common Pleas has temporarily relocated some of its services to the Law School’s Lewis Katz Building as the trial of Jerry Sandusky gets under way. Under special authority granted by the Chief Justice of the Commonwealth, the Centre County Court of Common Pleas Prothonotary/Clerk of the Court and the Centre County Public Defender's Office have established “satellite offices” at Lewis Katz Building for the duration of the Sandusky trial. The Court of Common Pleas will hold periodic hearings in the Law School's Apfelbaum Courtroom.

The Law School and University are assisting the Centre County Court of Common Pleas in maintaining its ordinary operations during the Sandusky trial, which is expected to put a strain on the Court's Bellefonte facilities.
