Six Students from the China University of Political Science and Law chose the Penn State Law LL.M. program not just for its quality and academics. Read about them, and why they chose this program.

Suyi Chen, from Beijing, chose Penn State Law because of the clean environment and the town of State College, which offers students many of the amenities of a larger urban environment, in a clean, safe, welcoming setting. State College is often recognized as one of the country's safest and most livable communities.

Yajing Fu came here from Hadan City, after learning from a friend and Penn State Law LL.M. student that Penn State is a place where students can focus on their studies, in a clean, natural environment. Since coming here as a student, Fu discovered the friendliness and accessibility of the professors, who have helped him improve himself professionally.

Yifan Tong, from Hegan in Heilongjiang Provice, studied Civil, Commercial, and Economic Law at CUPL. Unlike most of the Chinese students in the Penn State Law LL.M. Program, he started in the spring semester. He came to Penn State Law because Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Programs Stephen Barnes, taught U.S. Law at CUPL for seven years. After discussing the program with Barnes, and researching the program online, Tong realized the benefits of studying at Penn State, a highly ranked, research university. Since becoming an LL.M. student, Tong enjoys the clean environment, the academic caliber of the students, and the teaching style of the professors, while academic, also interact with the students.

Shuaichen Wu, from Zhengzhou, He Nan Province chose the Penn State Law LL.M. Program because of it's modern and professional education. He appreciates the ability to access a variety of different courses and subjects at one of the world's largest research universities and notes the expertise, accessibility, and professionalism of the professors in the LL.M. program.

Mingyu Yang, from Heilongjiang province, is a Master's candidate in her second year in CUPL and majored in Law and Economics. She came to Penn State because she wanted to know more about U.S. law. As a student in the LL.M. program, she said the professors and staff are friendly, helpful, and patient with students. She says the courses are challenging and professors thoroughly explain difficult legal concepts, and notes everyone at Penn State Law is willing to help when asked, and students are free to use all the resources at Penn State Law and Penn State to develop themselves.

Haijing Yu chose the Penn State Law LL.M. program because of the school's partnership with CUPL. Once here as a student, he found Penn State a modern and cosmopolitan community of students, faculty, scholars, and researchers, who share the common goals of enhancing international understanding, knowledge, and discourse as well as serving the public interest.
