New book by Professor Simmons earns praise from <i>Harvard Law Review</i>

The Harvard Law Review recently featured a review of The Jury and Democracy: How Jury Deliberation Promotes Civic Engagement and Political Participation, co-authored by Professor Cindy Simmons. In its June 2011 issue The Harvard Law Review praised the book as “engaging prose” and calls it a “must-read for scholars and students of the American jury system, as well as for anyone interested in the effect that citizen participation in government institutions has on the strength of a democratic society.” Professor Simmons will teach Legal Journalism at Penn State Law in the fall semester and is a faculty member in Penn State’s College of Communications.
