California’s rural poor get legal help from Geoff Trautman ‘13Across the bay from University of California at Santa Cruz where Geoff Trautman ’13 studied Politics as an undergraduate, the Watsonville office of California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) serves the state’s rural poor. Michael Gill ’13: Spending the summer at the intersection of law and financeFrom a very young age Michael Gill knew he wanted to be a lawyer, but he didn’t know what kind of lawyer until his first year of law school. One thing, however, that he was certain about was his interest in finance, so he decided to look for opportunities to use a law degree with a finance degree. This summer Gill is doing that as an intern at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government’s Development Finance Institution that makes loans to projects in developing countries that also have a U.S. company nexus.
