Today Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law celebrated the opening of its new 114,000-square-foot Lewis Katz Building with a dedication ceremony. The event also marked the start of a yearlong celebration honoring the 175th anniversary of the Dickinson School of Law, which held its first class on April 1, 1834.
Rain or shine, prepare to pound the pavement on the morning of Saturday, October 31 by participating in Penn State’s Dickinson School of Law 5K Race Judicata to raise funds for the Law School’s Public Interest Law Fund (PILF). The race will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is open to law school students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of the Penn State community. Leashed dogs are welcome, too.
When Vicki Adams first arrived at the Family Law Clinic in early 2008, she had an amazing story to tell. She and her husband, Darren, were not only raising their two children, Jaheim and Lynchelle, but were also raising her two children and his six children from prior relationships. Vicki and Darren desired to adopt each other’s children, to “make it a full legal family.”
On Thursday, October 1, Dr. Parris Chang will deliver a public lecture titled "U.S. Role in the China-Taiwan Divide." Sponsored by the Law School and the School of International Affairs, the lecture will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Lewis Katz Building, located off Park Avenue and Bigler Road in University Park.
Capping eight years of litigation, the Disability Law Clinic won a rare outright victory for a disabled client in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit during the 2008-2009 academic year.
